About Key West Car Rental
A plain-spoken guide to renting a car in Key West, built by travellers who got tired of guessing which company serves which part of the island.
This directory is actively being updated with verified rental companies.
Why this site exists
Key West is a small island at the end of a 113-mile highway, and getting around it is not like getting around a mainland city. Some visitors need a car for the whole stay, some need one for a single day trip, and plenty need no car at all. The rental market here is a mix of national counters at the airport and small local operators scattered through New Town and Old Town, each with different vehicle mixes, delivery options and requirements.
We built a directory that lays those differences out side by side, so you can decide what you need before you start comparing prices.
What we stand for
- Independent by designKey West Car Rental is not a rental company, broker or booking agent. We do not own vehicles, take reservations or process payments. Every listing points you to the company itself.
- Written for visitorsOur guides answer the questions travellers actually ask: whether a car is needed at all, where to park in Old Town, and what a day trip up the Overseas Highway involves.
- Clear about limitsRates, fees and policies change constantly. We describe what a company generally offers and then send you to verify the current terms directly before you commit.
How listings are compiled
Each listing records the things that are hard to compare on a booking engine: where the company is based, whether it meets you at Key West International Airport, whether it delivers to hotels, which vehicle types it keeps on the lot, and what it asks of younger drivers. Listings are grouped rather than ranked — a directory position is not an endorsement.
Companies can ask us to correct a detail at any time through our contact page.
Independence disclaimer
This site is an independent informational resource. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an agent of any rental company listed. Always confirm rates, fees, availability, and policies directly with the company.
